Hurricane Irene Closes Breezes Bahamas All Inclusive Resort

Breezes Bahamas All Inclusive Resort

Breezes Bahamas All Inclusive Resort

Hurricane Irene has forced the closure of Breezes Bahamas All Inclusive Resort located on Cable Beach, Nassau Bahamas for the next two months.

Breezes Bahamas announced that it’s all inclusive resort will be closed from September 1 – October 30, 2011 to carry out repairs to the resort’s roof that were caused by Hurricane Irene.

According to Breezes the resort had sustained damages to it roof resulting in leakages in public as well as guest rooms, saying “as the damage is primarily roof damage, it will take some time to properly assess and effect necessary repairs.

Breezes Bahamas has not given an indication of the estimated cost of the repair that will be undertaken or the revenue that will be lost to the all inclusive property. However, the good news is that the resort closure is taking place during the usually “slow tourist  period” in the Bahamas.

While the all inclusive resort is closed its book guest will be facilitated at the Wyndham Nassau Resort & Crystal Palace and Sheraton Resort on Cable Beach or RIU Palace Paradise Island.

Breezes Bahamas All Inclusive Resort will reopen November 1, 2011 just in time to take advantage of the start of the brisk winter tourist period in the Bahamas.

And if you have booked your destination wedding at the resort during the months of September and October there is no need for concern.  As the Breezes Bahamas has confirmed that all weddings will go ahead as scheduled on the resort’s Cable Beach property.

However, the couple and their wedding guest will be housed at either the the Wyndham Nassau Resort & Crystal Palace and Sheraton Resort on Cable Beach or RIU Palace Paradise Island.

We encourage you to contact your wedding coordinator at Breezes Bahamas All Inclusive Resort with any questions you may have or simply call us with any questions you may have about wedding in the Bahamas at 1-242-327-2453.

Diana & Jack Sandals Resorts Bahamas Wedding

Sandals love story

While Diana and Jack was a match made online the celebration was a Sandals love story at their Sandals Resorts Bahamas wedding.

Jack a Civil Engineer, and Diana a School Teacher from Philadelphia Sandals love story begin when they meet while chatting on Match.com and found that they had so much in common including their childhood which was spent within a mile of each other.

Their instant attraction slowly grew into best friends and later committing to become life long partners at a Sandals Resorts Bahamas wedding.

Diana & Jack Sandals Love Story

Why a Sandals wedding?

In deciding on a Sandals destination wedding Diana says “Jack and I choose a destination wedding because neither of us wanted the hassle of planning a big traditional wedding.  I did not want to pick out centerpieces, food, flowers.  I just wanted a way to celebrate our love in a way that represented the two of us.  Both of us have a love for travel, and beaches.  I have a love for the sun. We knew right away that having a beach destination wedding was the way to go.”

And Sandals Bahamas?

And after researching all the different Caribbean island choices “we decided to get married in the Bahamas. What helped make our choice was that the Island of the Bahamas was a short fly for our guest.  We did not want to have friends and family spending too long on a plane.  We wanted everyone to be able to enjoy having a vacation with us as well.”

After that Diana and Jack left it up to the staff at Sandals Resorts Royal Bahamian Resort in the Bahamas to handle the details. And allowing them the opportunity to focus on the things that really mattered – celebrating love and enjoying family and friends for five full days in the Bahamas.

Hurricane Irene Affecting the Bahamas Weather

The Bahamas weather is currently being impacted by hurricane Irene with most of the Islands in the chain being affected.

Resulting in significant changes in the Bahamas weather that you maybe familiar with in this tropical paradise. But like sunshine,  hurricane are also apart of the tropical experience.

Here are a few pictures of what I’ve been able to see of my garden view of hurricane Irene impact on the Cable Beach, the Bahamian Rivera on Nassau, New Providence.

So how does this Bahamas weather affect your plans to travel to the Bahamas in the next few days?

Well, hurricane are not new to the Bahamas and most hotel properties are adequately prepared to accommodate you.  And most should resume normal business operation once hurricane Irene has passed so it is important for you to contract your resort for information on what exactly is happening at that resort property.

And if you are still not sure that you would still like to make your planned trip to the Bahamas, the Ministry of Tourism is working with its industry partners and hotels to extend all possible courtesies to those affected as guided by the industry’s recommended hurricane cancellation policy.

However, the major cruise ports in Nassau and Grand Bahama Island will be closed until Saturday, Aug. 27.  Passengers with reservations should contact cruise lines directly with questions.

While the Bahamas weather is not adequately reported in the international news media particularly because of their lack of familiarity with the geography of The Bahamas, you can follow the progress of Hurricane Irene through the islands of the Bahamas by using the links at – www.nhc.noaa.gov
