The Bahamas has returned to normal after Hurricane Irene with most hotel and resort properties in the primary tourism areas of Nassau and Grand Bahama are now open for business.
However, Sandals Resorts Royal Bahamian and Breezes Bahamas All Inclusive Resort both located on Cable Beach in Nassau have been closed for repairs following Irene.

As for the other hotels and resorts properties on Nassau, Paradise Island and Grand Bahama Island including Atlantis Bahamas, experienced only limited landscaping damage, power loss and flooding from Hurricane Irene.
The world famous Nassau Straw Market was not as fortunate as the markets temporarily house in makeshift tented facility was completely destroyed. The good news for vendors is that they scheduled to move into a newly constructed Nassau Straw Market in downtown Nassau’s Bay Street in September.
Operations at both the Lynden Pindling International Airport in Nassau and the cruise port Prince George Wharf have also resumed operation with minimal delays expected for departing passengers at LPIA.
These pictures are evident that the Bahamas weather is back to normal and the beaches are as pristine and crystal clear as ever. So Come on down and experience why “its better in the Bahamas!”

While not disclosing the extent of the repairs, Sandals has indicated that its intent is to ensure that the is property structurally sound and the closure is a precautionary measure. With the overall concern being that their guest will be able to experience all the services and amenities promised in the Sandals Resorts brand “Luxury Included.”
