Krysten & Joel’s Wedding

We are gathered here today to celebrate one of life’s greatest moments, to give recognition to the worth and beauty of love, and to add our best wishes to the promises that will be made before God which shall unite Krysten Marie Wilson & Joel Vincent Brown in marriage.

Should there be anyone who has cause why this couple should not be united in
marriage, they must speak now or forever hold their peace.

The “Giving Away”

Who is it that brings this woman to this man?

Jeff Wilson, father answer

“I do”, “I do on behalf of her Mother & I”

“Thank you Mr & Mrs Wilson. You may all be seated

Reading by Elizabeth

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered. It keeps no record of the wrongs, love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.” – Corinthians 13:4-8

Opening Remarks

Joel and Krysten marriage is an affirmation of life, an undying commitment, a spiritual, emotional, and intellectual bond between two people. It is created from the purest of friendship, respect and love. Therefore, the institution of marriage is not to be entered into lightly, because it symbolizes commitment on every level.
Joel & Krysten, together you will continue to meet the challenges and obstacles of life head on. As Marriage is an adventure in the most intimate of human relationships. It is the mutual commitment of two people sincerely in love who share the same dreams about life.

But more than that, it is the intimate sharing of two lives. It is a sharing that does not diminish but enhances the individuality of each partner.

Joel & Krysten your marriage does not mark the beginning of a new relationship; rather, it is an acknowledgment and celebration, of a relationship that has been flourishing since you met and your first date at “Houlihans” on New Years Day some 4 years ago.
Joel and Krysten, love is the longing two people feel for one another. It is the need to share, in body and spirit, the warmth, serenity and peace two people can give to one another. A simple touch, a hand held at a time of uncertainty. This is what it means to be intimately human.

Declaration of Consent

Joel Vincent Brown will you have Krysten Marie Wilson to be your wedded wife, to live together in the estate of matrimony? Will you love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness and in health, and, forsaking all others, keep yourself only for her so long as you both shall live?
Joel responds: “I Will”
And, Krysten Marie Wilson will you have Joel Vincent Brown to be your wedded husband, to live together in the estate of matrimony? Will you love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, in sickness and in health, and, forsaking all others, keep yourself only for him so long as you both shall live?
Krysten’s responds: “I Will”

Exchange of Vows…

In the presence of God, and before these witnesses, I, Joel Vincent Brown, take you Krysten Marie Wilson, to be my wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse; for richer, for poorer; in sickness and in health; in joy and in sorrow; to love and to cherish and to be faithful to you alone, as long as we both shall live.”

And now Krysten…

In the presence of God, and before these witnesses, I, Krysten Marie Wilson, take you Joel Vincent Brown, to be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse; for richer, for poorer; in sickness and in health; in joy and in sorrow; to love and to cherish and to be faithful to you alone, as long as we both shall live.”

Ring Exchange with Kevin

Your wedding rings represents the unconditional love that you have for one another and are a symbol of the vows that you will make today.

Joel, take this ring, put it on Krysten’s finger and repeat after me…

“With this ring, I give you my promise: that from this day forward, you shall not walk alone. My heart will be your shelter, and my arms your home as we walk together through all things. With this ring, I give you my heart. I have no greater gift to give.”

Krysten, take this ring, put it on Joel’s finger and repeat after me…

“With this ring, I give you my promise: that from this day forward, you shall not walk alone. My heart will be your shelter, and my arms your home as we walk together through all things. With this ring, I give you my heart. I have no greater gift to give.”

Prayer

Dear God, our hearts are filled with great happiness on Joel and Krysten’s wedding day, as they come before You pledging their hearts and lives to one another. Grant that they may ever be true and loving, living together in such a way as to never bring shame or heartbreak into their marriage. Temper their hearts
with kindness and understanding, rid them of all pretense or jealousy. Help them to remember to be each other’s sweetheart, helpmate, best friend and guide, so that together they may meet the cares and problems of life more bravely. And with the passage of time, may they find great contentment in the rich joy of senior companionship. May the home they are creating today truly be a place of love and harmony, where Your Spirit is always present. Bless this marriage we pray and walk beside Joel and Krysten throughout all of their lives together. We ask these things in Your name; Amen

May the love you now share continue to grow, and may the happiness you bring to each other be a continuing part of your life together. May you continue to laugh often and enjoy each other every day, steadfast in hope and confidence, believing in yourself and believing in each other.

May your love be a sanctuary and a source from which you draw strength to live your lives with enthusiasm and imagination. May the people you touch in your lifetime know how much you love and care for one another and may you love one another forever.
